Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy, the Physical Therapist is responsible for directing physical therapy services. This includes coordinating and supervising department operations, administering prescribed physical agents, maintaining performance improvement activities within the department, and ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulatory laws and standards. The Physical Therapist also assists in budgeting, department evaluations, and timely entry of patient charges.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate professional behavior and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Organize and manage time effectively to produce deliverable products on time and within budget.
• Compile and organize data, making recommendations based on findings.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
• Assess and evaluate treatment effects, recommending changes to physicians when necessary.
• Formulate and implement teaching plans for patients and families.
• Operate and manage therapy equipment safely and maintain cleanliness in the department.
• Coordinate patient care to meet individual needs while following hospital policy.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Three (3) or more years of experience in physical therapy preferred.
• Current California licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist.
• Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, disease processes, and related rehabilitative medicine.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within an organization.
