PACU Registered Nurse (RN) - Rotating Days/Nights

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Rotating shifts: 3x12-hour, Days (07:30 - 20:00) and Nights (19:00 - 07:00)

Job Description

The PACU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality care for patients recovering from surgery. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in PACU as well as ICU nursing. This position requires both day and night shifts, with a commitment to rotating schedules.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' recovery from anesthesia.
• Administer medications and manage IVs.
• Perform assessments and document patient progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide discharge instructions and education to patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of PACU experience required.
• 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• First-time travelers accepted with strong 3-5 years of PACU experience.

Patient Demographics & Diagnoses

• Patient Age Range: Pediatrics to Geriatrics.
• Common Diagnoses: Orthopedic, Neurology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Urology, Gynecology.
