Schedule

All contracts must run into February; no exceptions. Shifts are variable, including 7a-7p and 7p-7a with a 3x12 hour schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the ICU will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients across diverse age groups. The nurse will utilize advanced clinical skills and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care with emphasis on safety and well-being.
• Perform thorough assessments of patient conditions and document findings.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and uphold confidentiality.
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical interventions as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required via the RQI system during clinical orientation.
• Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire.
• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association and TNCC recommended within 2 years of hire.
