3x12 hour shifts with day and night variable scheduling. On-call shifts required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. The role includes assessing patient needs, developing and adjusting plans of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and providing direct patient care while managing the overall care delivery throughout the patient’s episode.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs through effective communication and observational skills.
• Create individualized plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Provide direct care and evaluate patient progress, adapting plans as necessary.
• Promote and protect patient health, safety, and rights.
• Educate patients and families on self-care post-discharge.
• Document patient education and responses to improve care delivery.
• Engage in self-evaluation and professional development to enhance nursing practice.
• Foster trusting relationships with patients and families while prioritizing their needs.
• Administer medications and apply clinical interventions as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg environment
