Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed. This role involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and providing necessary education upon discharge. The therapist will operate various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers to administer prescribed treatments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments, including routine operations of ventilatory equipment.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning via various methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
• Review patients' chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with procedures related to respiratory care, including Bronchoscopy and Chest Tube placement.
• Administer arterial puncture and determine ventilation efficiency.
• Perform CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Candidates must hold a current license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist. Previous experience in a similar setting is preferred.
