Occupational Therapist - Day Shift

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises Occupational Therapy treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This is a 13-week contract position.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatments.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment recommendations.
• Complete thorough documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in the practice of Occupational Therapy.
• Adhere to safety practices and promote patient and employee safety consistently.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives and effectively communicate with patients and families.
• Ensure proper coverage for scheduled absences and attend team conferences.
• Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in providing patient care and establishing treatment plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid and current state license for Occupational Therapy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy.
• Prior inpatient acute care experience is preferred.

Schedule

Day shift, 5 days a week (5x8.0).
