Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant will embrace the Select Medical Way and Core Values by delivering superior quality care, treating others with respect, and maintaining a safety-focused environment. Key responsibilities include implementing treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist and assisting in various therapeutic interventions to achieve patients' long-term goals.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals and plans as established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist with therapeutic interventions including strengthening exercises, balance exercises, and functional skills training.
• Train patients in locomotion using assistive devices and demonstrate proper guarding techniques.
• Utilize various modalities such as whirlpools, hot/cold packs, and ultrasound.
• Monitor patient progress and respond accordingly to treatment outcomes.
• Document patient responses and participate in patient and family education.
• Maintain a clean treatment area and follow all safety protocols.
• Participate in team conferences and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certified.
• 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Active applicable license for the state where work will be performed.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a 5x8.0 shift.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
