This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (18:45 - 07:15). Every other weekend is required.
Job Description
This position involves working within the Emergency Department Holding unit, which caters to patients who are waiting for inpatient beds. The role requires the handling of a variety of adult medical and surgical diagnoses, with an expectation to manage PCU-level patients. The traveler will float between ED and MedSurg areas as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for Medical/Surgical and telemetry cases.
- Conduct the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Administer medications and blood products.
- Perform nursing procedures including colostomy care, feeding tube management, and IV administration.
- Utilize rapid response and code teams as required.
- Monitor patients on telemetry and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
- Traveler experience is preferred.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS.
- Skills in access and management of central lines, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and medication protocols.
