Job Description
The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients during the night shift. This role includes working in a fast-paced environment, utilizing advanced nursing skills, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU.
- Monitor and manage patients with critical and complex health conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including blood product administration and continuous IV sedation.
- Assisting with procedures such as chest tube insertion and central line management.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess patient needs and progress.
- Utilize electronic medical records for documentation and patient information management.
- Participate in infection prevention and education practices.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience required.
- Current RN license in the state of Maryland or Compact License.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI.
- Experience with critical care procedures including management of ventilators and arterial lines preferred.
