Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, adhering to the organization's focus on delivering superior quality care while treating others with respect and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for patients based on assessments and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care while focusing on patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information about patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Supervise and provide guidance to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after orientation.
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific facility only).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.
• ICU experience preferred.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift schedule consisting of 3x12.0 hour shifts.
