Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide care on the Labor & Delivery and Obstetric floor. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience with a focus on L&D and postpartum care, and be capable of offering couplet care as well as basic medical-surgical skills for hysterectomy patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to obstetric patients, including antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Administer medications and manage patient IVs, including MgSO4 and Pitocin.
- Monitor fetal well-being using EFM and perform assessments for high-risk antepartum patients.
- Deliver couplet care alongside mothers and newborns and assist in care for hysterectomy patients.
- Educate parents on discharge instructions and newborn care, including car seat education.
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions for onboarding new staff.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery and postpartum settings.
- Active RN license required (State or Compact License).
- Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN (required for fetal monitoring); STABLE is preferred.
- Travel experience is required due to current skill mix needs.
