Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team in Frederick, Maryland. The position is located in a 12-patient bed unit specializing in Oncology, Thoracic, and Bariatric surgery. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients, administer chemotherapy treatments, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and other medications safely and effectively.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
- Care for patients undergoing treatment for various cancers, including management of side effects and complications.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and aftercare.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum 2 years of current, relevant experience in oncology nursing.
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission.
- Chemo (ONS/ONCC) Certification required at the time of submission.
- NIHSS certification is required.
- Experience with accessing/managing ports and administering chemotherapy.
