Registered Nurse - Same Day Surgery Center (PACU/ICU)

Schedule

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with call responsibilities, 32 hours per week with additional hours expected from call duties.

Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Same Day Surgery Center, primarily responsible for the admission and discharge of surgical/procedure patients, including nursing admission assessments and post-anesthesia care in both Phase I and Phase II. The ideal candidate should have strong assessment, IV, and patient education skills, with the ability to multitask and communicate effectively with team members including nursing and physician colleagues. Experience in PACU/ICU is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments and care for surgical and procedure patients.
• Assist in post-anesthesia care for both Phase I and II.
• Carry out IV starts and be responsible for patient education.
• Prepare the operating room for surgery and assist where necessary.
• Manage patient care for adult and geriatric populations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of same day surgery experience required.
• Experience in a rural outpatient facility preferred.
• Admitting and discharge experience is mandatory.
• Phase I and II / PACU experience required.
• Must have Cerner EMR experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Must have a valid RN license.
