This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), weekdays, every other weekend. Flexible options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
Job Description
The RN will provide care to patients who have undergone bone and joint reconstructive surgeries, joint replacements, or orthopedic trauma, as well as those recovering from sports injuries. The unit includes remote telemetry monitoring to ensure patient safety and care quality.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in accordance with team nursing model.
- Monitor and administer medications, including Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, and others.
- Conduct wound care and utilize specific equipment like CPMs, Hemovacs, and wound vacs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for comprehensive patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in the orthopedic/med surg specialty.
- Current RN license in West Virginia or Compact RN license (pending license accepted).
- BCLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
- Telemetry experience and ability to manage IV medication drips without titration.
