Night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) and rotating evening shifts (15:00 - 03:30) are available, with every other weekend required.
Job Description
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) provides critical care in a fast-paced environment, managing patients across all age ranges with complex diagnoses. The primary focus of this role is on night shifts, with flexibility to work evening shifts as needed based on department scheduling requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient care for diverse populations in the Emergency Department.
- Conduct assessments and triage patients according to acuity.
- Administer medications and treatments following established protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient and family education regarding health conditions and recovery processes.
- Document patient care and assessments accurately using Epic charting system.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Must have an active RN license in Maryland or a compact state.
- Must hold current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI to be completed during onboarding); NRP and TNCC preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an Emergency Department setting is required.
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:4, with a capacity for 5 in lower acuity cases.
