Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring nursing care plans are effectively implemented. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting mutual safety for patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Establish individualized plans of care based on a thorough assessment and collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program while utilizing the nursing process for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status effectively across the care team to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, facilitating a positive and resourceful team environment.
- Maintain safety and compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Engage in professional development and pursue further education opportunities.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
