Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while emphasizing safety for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for each patient and collaborate with their family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and conduct patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Maintain safety in accordance with hospital policies and participate in creating a positive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and engage in professional growth and development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.

Schedule

This position requires a Night Shift schedule (3x12 hours).

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
