Schedule
This position requires a 10-hour day shift, with a mix of 9-hour rotating shifts including evenings and weekends. On-call duties are required, and travelers must work 2 out of the 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.
Job Description
The Endoscopy RN will be responsible for providing care and support to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. This role necessitates expertise in starting IVs, assessing health history and physical information, and monitoring post-procedure recovery for patients receiving conscious sedation. The RN will also administer conscious sedation medication and monitor patients during procedures.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Prior travel nursing experience is required.
- AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications are required; AHA PALS certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a trauma 1, large (500+ beds), teaching facility is required.
- Recent experience with EPIC electronic medical records within the past 2 years is mandatory.
- Must have experience in starting IVs, assessing health history and physicals, and monitoring recovery for patients under conscious sedation.
Additional Information
- Travel requirements are based on mileage: Travel (101 miles or more), Radius (51-100 miles), Local (50 miles or less).
- Float is not required for this position.
- Public transportation is not accessible in the area; reliable transportation is mandatory.
- Vehicles must be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November to April.
- Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
