Job Description

The Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to the patient's needs and physician direction. This role is responsible for overseeing and directing therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate an effective return to community activities. The therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves while performing various professional duties associated with patient care and program delivery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop appropriate treatment plans and goals to promote timely discharge.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address barriers to discharge and plan for continuing services.
• Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions effectively based on patient needs.
• Document patient care in a clear, concise, and timely manner, adhering to compliance and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in student programs and provide a constructive learning environment for students.
• Create and actively manage a professional development plan with clinical management.
• Engage in patient and professional advocacy efforts within the community.
• Maintain professional licensure and complete all state mandatory continuing education requirements.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and provide feedback for quality service improvements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• Must hold a valid, current State license as a Physical Therapist.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required, with acute inpatient experience preferred.
