Operating Room Nurse - 12 Hour Nights

Schedule

This position requires a commitment to 12-hour night shifts, including weekends as scheduled. One weeknight call every four weeks and one weekend shift call every three months.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in all areas of the operating room and will be cross-trained to assist in Endoscopy procedures. The facility has a total of 11 rooms, comprising 8 OR suites and 3 Endo suites, providing a diverse case load, excluding open heart surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the operating room setting.
• Assist with various surgical procedures, including vascular, general, orthopedic, neurology, eyes, and ENT.
• Utilize Baxter pumps and robotic systems, including Phillips and DaVinci.
• Participate in call rotation and cover shifts as needed.
• Ensure compliance with ACLS certification requirements for modern sedation protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current nursing license appropriate for the state.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Experience in all areas of the operating room, with a strong preference for candidates with DaVinci robotic experience.
