Schedule

The RN will work 36 hours per week on night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Typical schedules will include working every third weekend and covering one holiday, subject to change based on census and staffing needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive care to patients in the cardiac step-down unit. The RN is responsible for continuous assessment, monitoring, and support of patients recovering from cardiac procedures. The RN may be asked to float to other units during times of low volume or staffing crises.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, including assessment and monitoring of heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, and post-operative care for open-heart patients.
• Administer medications and manage treatment plans for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• Be prepared to care for ventilated patients in rare circumstances based on patient needs.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, utilizing Epic EMR.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate on patient care approaches.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of three (3) years experience in cardiac step-down nursing.
• Experience with heart cath recovery and managing cardiac drips.
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Familiarity with Epic EMR is essential.
• Must be comfortable caring for ventilated patients if needed.
