Job Description
The Operating Room Nurse provides comprehensive surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care throughout the surgical process. The role includes maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, educating patients pre and post-operatively, and coordinating care across the surgical continuum.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a sterile operating environment.
- Monitor and evaluate patient physical and emotional well-being.
- Integrate and coordinate care throughout the surgical process.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of current Operating Room experience.
- Experience in vascular surgery and orthopedic surgery is required.
- Must have strong skills in circulating and scrubbing.
- Travel experience is preferred.
- EPIC experience is required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required.
