This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, weekdays, and every other weekend required. Floating to the Emergency Department may be necessary.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ED Holding Unit is responsible for providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients. This position requires strong clinical skills, particularly in telemetry and emergency settings. The ideal candidate will manage various patient conditions, administer medications, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the ED Holding Unit.
- Monitor patient conditions and collaborate with healthcare team members.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous therapy.
- Perform assessments and develop care plans for patients.
- Assist in managing emergencies, including administering cardiac drips and supporting patients with respiratory needs.
- Document patient care accurately using the Cerner charting system.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ED or telemetry setting.
- Active RN license (WV or Compact) required; pending licenses accepted for submission.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI (CPI must be obtained prior to start).
- Experience with telemetry, IV therapy, and phlebotomy preferred.
