Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night Shift: 3x12 hour shifts per week

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is effectively followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, along with orientees. This role places a strong emphasis on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals based on patient diagnoses by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely updates on patient information and status for team conferences.
  • Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, ensuring educational needs are met for patients and their families.
  • Initiate discharge planning on admission and provide patient education in anticipation of discharge.
  • Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care and safety.
  • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.
  • Engage in team building and maintain clear communication with management and senior nursing staff.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Current RN license.
  • BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to the first shift for specific units.
  • A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
