Job Description
The ICU Registered Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients and ensure adherence to established protocols and standards. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of critical care concepts and be proficient in managing complex patient cases.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage patients with EVD and multiple medication drips.
- Provide trauma care for patients of varying severity.
- Conduct thorough assessments using CAM, CPOT, and RASS.
- Cater to patients undergoing hypothermia treatment.
- Utilize and manage pleurevac chest tube drainage.
- Employ Allscripts EMR for patient documentation.
- Adhere to strict isolation precautions and infection control practices.
- Follow standard operating procedures and critical care practices.
- Assist in the use of PCA pumps as necessary.
- Be willing to float to the SICU IMCU as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BSN or higher degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Active RN License to practice in New York State or by reciprocity.
- A minimum of 3 years of ICU experience preferred.
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
- CCRN and TNCC certifications are preferred but not required.
