Registered Nurse - Postoperative Care

Schedule

Shift: 3x12.0 - 7 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience in postoperative surgical care. The ideal candidate will monitor patients' recovery from anesthesia, manage post-surgical pain, and detect any complications. Responsibilities include close observation of patients, administering medications, providing wound care, and educating patients on their recovery process.

Responsibilities

• Postoperative Monitoring: Monitor vital signs and assess for complications following surgery.
• Pain Management: Administer pain medications and educate patients on pain relief methods.
• Wound Care and Surgical Site Management: Perform post-surgical wound care and manage surgical devices.
• Patient Education and Emotional Support: Educate patients and families on post-operative care and provide emotional support.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Administration of Medications and Fluids: Provide IV fluids and medications as prescribed.
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate patient records and report findings to the medical team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current Ohio State nursing license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a surgical setting.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
