Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Tele/IMC Float Pool

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift; 3x12-hour shifts from 06:30 to 19:00.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele/IMC position within the Float Pool. The RN will be responsible for providing care in various units, including IMC and Med/Surg, with an expected patient ratio of 1:4-1:6. Ideal candidates will possess recent Epic experience and a comfort level in floating across multiple specialties.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, and unstable angina.
• Administer medications and therapies, including cardiac drips and insulin protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and patient status, interpreting dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases.
• Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Float to various units including observation, trauma surgical, joint, stroke, palliative, and renal units as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of Telemetry experience in a hospital setting.
• 2+ years of prior experience on an Intermediate Care Unit (IMC).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Recent Med/Surg Tele experience is mandatory.
• Must have experience with charting in Epic.
• Flu shot and a 2-step PPD required.
