Day shift, 12 hours, from 07:00 to 19:00, working 48 hours weekly.
Job Description
We are seeking a Registered Nurse in the Medical Step Down Unit that caters to patients with conditions such as Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Substance Abuse, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy. You may be required to float to other IMCU units, with 5J and 12A being the most common assignments.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for a ratio of 1 nurse to 4 patients.
- Monitor and manage patients with chronic and acute conditions.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient progress and care changes accurately.
Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar nursing role is required.
Certifications / Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Mandatory Holiday Coverage
Travelers are required to work either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving. Additionally, the schedule must include either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day OR New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
