Job Description
The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care through intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. The role requires evaluating patient conditions and recommending appropriate treatment plans, as well as educating patients about their procedures and treatments during discharge.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory therapies using various ventilatory and aerosol devices.
- Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods, including oropharyngeal and tracheal.
- Monitor oximetry and capnography, and interpret chest x-rays.
- Assist in diagnostic procedures and emergency interventions related to respiratory care.
- Manage mechanical ventilation and perform routine maintenance on respiratory equipment.
- Document and communicate patient treatment details and responses effectively.
Required Experience
Must hold a valid respiratory therapy license and demonstrate competency in various respiratory care procedures.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current Respiratory Therapist license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
