The position requires 3 x 12-hour shifts with an initial rotation between days and nights, with potential for straight days or nights depending on staffing needs.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist will provide care in the adult critical care setting, working with a diverse patient population that includes neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The role may include responsibilities associated with aerosol therapy, intubation assistance, and management of ventilator patients. Familiarity with Cerner as a charting system is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and interventions for patients across all age groups.
• Perform actions such as intubation assistance, drawing arterial blood gases, and managing tracheostomy care.
• Administer medications and therapies, including albuterol, atrophine, and inhaled steroids.
• Utilize high-flow nasal cannula and BiPAP as part of patient treatment.
• Document patient care activities and responses using Cerner.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in critical care.
• Experience in a trauma center, specifically Level I or II, is preferred.
• Travel experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification is required.
• Active RRT certification required; CRT may be considered based on experience.
• Active Pennsylvania state license is required at the time of submission.
