Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

This position requires 3x12 hour shifts on days, from 07:30 to 20:00, with weekend coverage needed every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced border unit handling a wide variety of patient diagnoses, including complex emergency department admissions. The role requires providing care to a minimum of 10 and up to 40 patients daily, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. The setting includes care for ED boarders, Medical-Surgical, and Intermediate Care units within the nurse's scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform assessments and develop nursing care plans.
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient status.
• Provide support for patients with diverse medical conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including social services and pharmacy.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting is required.
• Previous charge or leadership experience is preferred.
• Experience with a variety of patient diagnoses, including trauma.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• CPI certification required; Calm Every Storm online version is accepted.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
