Schedule/Shift
Three 12-hour night shifts, from 7 PM to 7 AM, including some weekends.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Stepdown Unit will provide care for patients following cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology procedures, as well as other medical-surgical and medical patients. The ideal candidate will be experienced in telemetry and possess strong skills in reading cardiac strips, IV starts, and managing various clinical protocols. Candidates will work within a multidisciplinary team to support patient care in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, providing interventions as necessary.
- Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including cardiac drips.
- Provide patient education and support to patients and families.
- Assist with procedures such as hemodialysis management and postoperative care.
Required Experience
Minimum of 1.5 to 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in medical-surgical/telemetry and 2 years in Stepdown nursing.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license in West Virginia or compact state.
- BCLS and ACLS certification required.
