Schedule/Shift

Shift details are variable with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Candidates should be available for call requirements and weekends, which will be discussed during the interview.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Day Surgery will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery and ensuring their safety and comfort in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The position requires proficient use of the Meditech documentation system and a collaborative approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery by coordinating with surgical teams.
• Monitor patients in PACU and provide necessary post-operative care.
• Administer medications and manage patient pain effectively.
• Document patient progress and care activities in Meditech.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Day Surgery or similar environment.
• Experience with age-specific populations including adults (18-65 years), adolescents (13-17 years), and geriatrics (65 years and older).

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN License in Texas (temporary license will not be accepted).
• Current certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS are required.
