Schedule/Shift
Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 3 x 12 schedule. Weekends required. On-call requirement is optional.
Job Description
The Cat Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation. This role includes assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures while ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex CT procedures and ensure patient safety during scanning.
- Review and obtain patient clinical history, ensuring accurate documentation in PACS and EPIC.
- Prepare and screen contrast questionnaires, and determine appropriate contrast media usage as prescribed.
- Verify insurance authorization and modify exam scripts as needed.
- Collect outside studies and ensure their availability in PACS.
- Monitor patients during procedures for any adverse reactions.
- Prepare patients for scanning, including the use of shielding and immobilization devices.
- Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients regarding their procedures.
Required Experience
5 years of experience in CT, with a thorough knowledge of CT procedures and PACS systems.
Certifications/Licensure
- New Jersey Diagnostic Radiography License.
- ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license preferred.
