Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

The schedule includes two 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM and two 8-hour night shifts from 11:15 PM to 7:15 AM. Flexibility to meet departmental needs and every other weekend coverage is required.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist will provide care to patients of all ages including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in various critical care settings. Experience with adult and pediatric patients in critical care environments is preferred. The therapist will utilize the Community Hospital charting system and may participate in interdisciplinary support in the unit.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments based on physician orders.
• Evaluate and monitor patients' respiratory status and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Document patient care activities in the Community Hospital charting system.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory care and therapies.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist is preferred.
• Experience with adult, pediatric, and critical care patient populations is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Active New Jersey Respiratory License is required.
