Job Description

The Cat Scan Technologist performs complex CT procedures using professional judgment to ensure quality patient care. Responsibilities include reviewing patient clinical histories, preparing and verifying contrast questionnaires, administering contrast media, and evaluating radiographs. The technologist monitors patients for adverse reactions during procedures and ensures proper documentation within the PACS and EPIC systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex CT procedures, including exams with and without contrast media.
• Review and obtain patient clinical history, ensuring proper documentation in PACS.
• Prepare, screen, and verify contrast questionnaires with patients and family members.
• Administer contrast media as prescribed and verify appropriateness of exams.
• Coordinate with Radiologists and Referring Physicians for prescription clarification.
• Obtain outside studies and schedule them in EPIC for Radiologists' review.
• Provide patients and requesting physicians with exam copies.
• Ensure proper patient preparation and provide accurate instructions.
• Monitor patients during procedures for any adverse reactions.
• Adhere to Department of Radiology policies, including on-call assignments.

Required Experience

5 years of experience in general CT imaging, including CTAs and perfusion techniques.

Certifications/Licensure

• NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
• ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within three months of hire.
• ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license preferred.
