This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

3 - 12 hour shifts per week to include every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. Shift hours are 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) will be responsible for providing critical care to patients in a 28-bed mixed ICU unit, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3. The nurse will manage ICU patients, including those on ventilators and will be expected to perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring and CRRT. Responsibilities will include bedside shift reports and participating in patient hand-offs. The documentation system utilized is Meditech, and each care team member is equipped with mobile phones and mobile computer workstations.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to ICU patients, including those requiring ventilatory support.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data.
• Conduct bedside shift reports to enhance communication and patient safety.
• Participate in the management of post-operative patients, including CABG, and those with advanced devices such as impellas and balloon pumps.
• Perform neuro procedures and manage patients with EVDs and induced hypothermia.

Required Experience

• 36 months of Registered Nurse experience, with at least one year in an ICU setting.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred, especially in facilities using Meditech.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
• BSN preferred.
• Advanced certifications and TNCC certification preferred.
