Job Description
The Registered Respiratory Therapist I (RT-I) is responsible for delivering respiratory care procedures, conducting cardio-respiratory diagnostics, and assessing patient needs under the guidance of a licensed physician. RT-Is will assess, treat, and provide care for patients with respiratory disorders, ensuring high levels of patient support and equipment management.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and conduct therapeutic respiratory procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive patient records and documentation.
- Select, assemble, check, and operate respiratory care equipment.
- Provide supervision and guidance to respiratory therapy technicians.
- Perform required cardio-respiratory diagnostics under physician direction.
Required Experience
- Active New York State License to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Ability to perform duties satisfactorily as evaluated in the annual competency assessment.
- Experience with the EPIC documentation system is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
