Description
Job Summary:
Provides health care services by applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis. Performs Sonography procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by a Radiologist, Cardiologist or a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.
Job Responsibilities:
-Produce quality images for Radiologist/Cardiologist review with correct interpretation.
-Prepares copy of images and records image release in electronic health record.
-Verifies images archived to PACS and notifies PACS administrator of any issues.
-Send images to tele-radiology service after hours as instructed.
-Participates in image Peer Review with Lead.
-Works with Lead, Radiologist, and Cardiologist on ACR accreditation as needed.
-Assists US Coordinator, Radiology Manager, and Radiology Director in equipment and software selections.
-Orders and/or restocks supplies and linens.
-Report all equipment malfunction to the proper personnel.
-Report any environmental safety concerns to proper personnel.
-Work with Lead and vendors to schedule maintenance on equipment.
-Works with EHR team, Lead, Radiology Manager and/or Radiology Director on changes/needs for the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
-Verifies orders, verifies patient name/birth date and history.
-Documents all incidents related to patient care on in electronic health records (example-incident reports, medications given, etc.)
-Performs and documents time out procedure for invasive procedures.
-Follow department protocol for all exams.
-Provides initial interpretation for exams per department protocol.

-Less than one (1) year experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
-One (1) or two (2) years in Special Imaging in Ultrasound.
