Duties:
Job Summary:

The Reg Polysomnographic Technician (PSG Tech) performs routine and complex Polysomnographic recordings using their understanding of the technical aspects of equipment used in monitoring, and recognizes parameters used in recording. Technicians perform PSG and CPAP/BiPAP testing in an efficient and effective manner, providing quality care to all patients. The Polysomnographic Technician demonstrates a willingness to assist others, work well with minimal supervision, and have strong, independent judgment. The Polysomnographic Technician uses department and hospital-wide policies and procedures during the provision of patient care, and is accountable for improving job knowledge and skills.



Job Responsibilities:

-Disconnect patient from electrodes, assist them in any way needed, and complete appropriate paperwork.

-Meets with and educates the patient about the sleep study, sleep apnea, CPAP titration, and reviews all paperwork.

-Monitor patients during sleep study and responds accordingly following department policy and procedures.

-Properly connects patient with appropriate electrodes to perform sleep study.

-Administer CPAP/BiPAP therapy in a manner that follows department policy and procedures.


Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:

-One (1) year of experience in sleep medicine setting.
