Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical/Telemetry (MST) Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team. The primary assignment will be in ED Holds (Emergency Department patient holds), with floating required between multiple campuses as needed. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment, ensuring seamless transitions and support across campuses.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the MST unit, including those in ED Holds, focusing on monitoring, assessment, and intervention for medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
• Float between multiple campuses to meet staffing needs, adapting to varying unit demands and patient acuity.
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, manage IVs, monitor vital signs, and respond to telemetry alarms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe, efficient work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent MST nursing experience required.
• License: Must possess a valid New Jersey (NJ) or Compact RN license at the time of application submission.
• Certifications: Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIH (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certifications required.
• Skills: Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration, and electronic health records. Strong communication, critical thinking, and adaptability skills essential for floating between campuses.
• Vaccination Requirement: Annual flu vaccine is mandatory (no declinations accepted).

Work Environment and Schedule

• Schedule: Full-time position requiring every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue.
• EMR System: Cerner.
• Location: Float Pool role with primary assignment in ED Holds; floating between RMC and Hopewell campuses as operational needs dictate.
• Physical Demands: Involves standing, walking, lifting, and patient handling; ability to work in a dynamic, high-acuity setting.
