Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week (after lunch breaks)
Location: Penn Yan NY
Shift: FT Nights/Weekends

Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and indirect resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. The CNA must possess the knowledge and skills required to deliver age-appropriate and patient-centered care to adult and geriatric populations. This role supports daily activities, maintains a clean and safe environment, and reports any changes in resident status to the supervising nurse.

Education & Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Active New York State Nursing Assistant Certification required

• BLS Certification through AHA or RQI required

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Nursing Assistant role

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including:

  • Hygiene, grooming, bathing, dressing

  • Incontinence/catheter care and toileting

  • Turning, repositioning, and skin integrity maintenance

  • Documentation per facility protocol

• Ensure resident safety and comfort:

  • Respond promptly to call lights and alarms

  • Maintain clean, safe resident environments

  • Support fall prevention and behavior management

  • Monitor and report malfunctioning equipment

  • Document safety measures as required

• Support residents' nutritional needs:

  • Meal delivery, tray set-up, adaptive equipment support

  • Feeding assistance and delivery of nourishments

  • Honor dietary preferences and report intake as required

• Provide restorative and rehabilitative support:

  • Range of motion, ambulation, transfers

  • Proper body alignment and use of assistive devices

  • Document therapeutic activities per protocol

• Protect resident rights:

  • Report concerns, refusals, and changes in condition promptly

  • Support emotional and psychosocial wellbeing

Additional Information

• Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is anticipated

• Must follow infection control and safety policies at all times
