Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical

• Type of patients on the unit: MedSurg focus is on post surgical patients ie orthopedics and general surgery and focuses on neuro populations. EPIC experience is a bonus
• Temp to perm is a possibility
• Blocked scheduling is attempted but not guaranteed

Position Summary

We are seeking a competent and experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our care team for a travel assignment in Alexandria, Louisiana. The RN will practice independently in a dynamic clinical environment, providing both routine and complex patient care while effectively managing patient needs and clinical priorities.

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

• 5:1 – 6:1, depending on staffing levels

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care

• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects

• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families

• Accurately document patient history, assessments, interventions, and outcomes

• Educate patients and families by identifying learning needs, issues, and available resources

• Delegate and assign tasks appropriately to support staff to ensure optimal patient care

• Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, and sound clinical judgment in managing changing patient conditions

• Meet expectations of applicable One* Competencies (Leader of Self / Others)

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• Active RN License in the state of employment or compact state

• BLS Certification (required)

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical or related nursing specialty (preferred)
