Job Title: Travel RN – Critical Care
Location: Alamogordo, NM
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Job Summary
The Critical Care Registered Nurse provides safe, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients. The RN practices independently, manages routine to complex clinical situations, and demonstrates strong clinical judgment, delegation, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced critical care environment.
Schedule & Requirements

Shift: 7A–7P
-
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
-
On-Call: 2 call shifts per 6-week period
-
Floating: Required to other departments as needed
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation)

Manage complex patient conditions and respond effectively to clinical changes
-
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for effectiveness and side effects

Document patient assessments, care, medications, and outcomes accurately

Educate patients and families based on identified learning needs
-
Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social patient needs
-
Delegate tasks appropriately and collaborate with the healthcare team
-
Meet applicable One*** Competencies (Leader of Self/Others/Leaders)

Adhere to ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
Job Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Experience
-
1 year of Critical Care experience preferred
-
New graduates will be considered
Licensure & Certifications
-
Active RN license in New Mexico or compact state
-
BLS (AHA required)
-
ACLS (AHA required)
Onboarding & Competencies
-
Mandatory New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days
-
Precepted onboarding with competency validation
-
Completion of Critical Care–specific competencies
-
Annual competency verification required
