DEPARTMENT: Rehabilitation Services
JOB TITLE: Physical Therapist Assistant JOB No.: 076.244-010 DATE: 01/07 REVISED 5/18
I. POSITION SUMMARY
Implements treatment programs established by the physical therapist for patients of all ages. Supervises ancillary
staff in the delivery of patient care and with department activities.
II. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education
1. Skills and proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of the profession of the physical therapy
profession as acquired through completion of an accredited physical therapist assistant curriculum.
B. Experience
1. Knowledge of the physical therapy profession as normally acquired through academic experience, clinical
affiliations, and/or previous work experience in the field. Demonstrated competence in the care of
populations served which may include neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
C. Licensure/Certification
1. Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy.
D. Interpersonal requirements
1. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, has a commitment to customer service.
2. Communicates effectively with all applicable customers and age groups.
3. Must be able to exchange information with other team members, management, personnel in other programs
and departments, medical staff, and community resources as needed.

IV. OSHA CLASSIFICATION
OSHA Job Classification I: Will include procedures or other job related tasks that involve an inherent potential for
mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of these
substances.
V. ENVIRONMENTAL AND JOB HAZARDS
Environmental hazards may include frequent exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparations, chemical
and biohazardous materials, and other conditions common to a hospital environment.
VI. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job Description
The above duties will require the following: prolonged standing or sitting; frequent bending, stooping, or stretching.
May require lifting in excess of 75 lbs. Requires hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity. Requires the ability to
distinguish letters, symbols, and have the knowledge to recognize and interpret data utilized for evaluation and
treatment. May also require the use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, and copier. Requires normal
vision range. May at times require adaptation to stress related to stat or heavy workload and associated extended
hours.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Manager needs a candidate that can start ASAP
- About Facility:
- Home Health
- Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
- Department Information:
- 6 visits a day
- There is not a max mileage to drive. The average is approximately 60-80 miles a day. Mileage is reimbursed weekly.
- Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year Home Health
- Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, if seasoned to home health
- Will mostly cover Northern Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Morrisville, Salsbury
- Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- Chronic diseases, Orthopedics/Ortho Surgery including total hips/knees, falls, weaknesses, CHF, COPD, occasionally stroke patients
- Required License, National Certification, Certs:
- Driver's License and proof of Insurance
- PTA: BLS, NC State License
- Skills required:
- PTA: Gait training, balance training, non-pharmaceutical pain management, help facilitate plan of care to get patient to highest level of functioning in the most efficient way, good communication with PT and clinical team, recognizing signs and symptoms to prevent readmissions
- HCHB experience required for all specialties
