JOB DESCRIPTION
Cardiovascular Specialist, RN EP Lab
● About Facility:
o Community based hospital in urban area, High Point, NC
o 601 N. Elm Street, High Point, NC 27262
o 351 licensed beds
o No Trauma Designation
o Teaching Hospital
o Chest Pain Center
o Stroke Center
● Department Information:
o Census? Average patients/day? 3-7
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years EP specific experience
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? No
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Afib, Sudden death, Cardiomyopathy Heart Block
● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o RN: BLS, ACLS
o Cardiac Cath Tech: BLS, ACLS; ARRT-R or equivalent OR RCIS is required, RCES (preferred)
● Skills required:
o RN: Charting in EPIC, Intraprocedural Documentation, Management of pressors, experience with circulating/monitoring EP procedures
o Cardiac Cath Tech: EP/Cath Lab scrub experience required; running stimulator, intraprocedural documentation
● Support within the Department:
o Charge RN
o Peers – how many clinicians per case? 3-4 staff members/case
o Leadership
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o Department specific Equipment: CARTO, Client and Lab Pro System, PFA-Healthcare and Carto
● Floating: If yes, where?
o No
● Orientation (facility and unit):
o 1-week general orientation
o 2 days departmental
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: No
o On call? If so, what is that schedule? No
o Holiday Expectations: No holidays
o RTO: Per Manager
o Shift times: 0630-1600
o Schedule cycle: schedule is made every 13 weeks for travelers
