Echocardiogram Technician Registered - DAYS

SHIFT: 7:00A - 5:30P
REQUIRED: CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:
A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation required.
State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License.
BLS certification issued through American Heart Association.
Weekend Requirement No On Call Requirement No POSITION TITLE: Cardiac Sonographer (Registered)DEPARTMENT: Echo Lab (Echocardiography)
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and pediatric patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Two year allied health education program that is patient care related. Allied health occupations include but are not limited to: diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and/or registered nurse preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation required. State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association.
SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others from a variety of disciplines
- Ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions
- Manual dexterity to perform echocardiograms.
EXPERIENCE: Two years of actively doing echocardiograms preferred.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
-Responsible to: Director of Cardiovascular Services
ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogenC
May be exposed to physical injury, infectious diseases and airborne and blood borne pathogens. Requires knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious diseases.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting patients, pushing heavy equipment, beds, and carts.
