Description

Title: Cardiac Cath Tech
Location: Charlotte North NC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour day shifts (40 hours/week)
Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Facility Overview

337 licensed beds
Chest Pain Center
Certified Stroke Center
Non-trauma facility
Non-teaching hospital (no residents or students)
Radius Rule: Traveler must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Department Overview

Outpatient Interventional Cardiac Services
Minimum Experience:
- 2 years in Cardiac/Cath Lab (RN & Tech)
First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Patient Population

Chest pain
Vascular conditions
Ablations
Pacemaker (PPM) cases

Required Certifications & Licensure

RN:
- BLS
- ACLS
Cath Lab Tech:
- BLS
- ACLS
- ARRT or RCIS

Required Skills

Cath Lab Technologist

Experience with cardiac cath lab patient population
Mandatory:
- IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
- Impella device experience (candidates without this will not be considered)
Strong knowledge of:
- Aseptic technique
- Sheath pulling
- TR band placement/removal
- Line securement
- EKG/cardiac rhythm interpretation

RN (if applicable)

Experience with cardiac/interventional patients
EPIC EMR experience
Required competencies:
- IABP & Impella
- EKG/cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Arterial line & CVP management
- Critical cardiac drips (gtts)
- Conscious sedation
- Transvenous & transcutaneous pacing

Technology & Equipment

EMR: Epic
Cath Lab Systems: Merge/Hemo

Department Support

Dedicated department leadership

Scheduling & Shifts

Shift: 10-hour day shifts (40 hours/week)
Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM

On-Call Requirements

Evening call: 1–2 shifts per week
Weekend call: 1–2 weekends within an 8-week period

Holiday Requirements

Travelers required to work 75% of holidays

Orientation

New Employee Orientation (NEO)
3–4 days of department-specific orientation
