JOB DESCRIPTION
Interventional Radiology Tech
● About Facility:
o 2001 Vail Ave. Charlotte, NC 28207
o Licensed Beds: 244
▪ ED: 16 beds
▪ ICU: ~ 20 beds
▪ Progressive: ~40 beds
▪ No Trauma designation
o Facility offers X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine, with Radiology Nursing support
o TJC Stroke accredited
o 16 OR suites
o Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
● Department Information:
o Inpatient Census is typically 100% capacity - 224
o Department performs an average of 8 procedures/day
o Currently staff day shift Mon-Fri 7a-4p, with no after hour coverage or call on weeknights or weekends
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses/Procedures:
o Department will serve ED, Inpatient, Observation, and Outpatient patients
o Department will perform anesthesia cases as needed
o Various diagnoses and procedures are seen within the IR department
● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o Completion of an ANA accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or completion of an accredited Radiology Interventional Program required.
o BLS
● Skills required:
-- Experienced IR Technologist to perform vascular access, embo, arterial, 3D. Strong communication and technical skills. Working with Siemens, SonoSite, Epic.
o BLS certified
ARRT registry
o Procedure based experience
● Support within the Department:
o Guest Services/Trasport for Inpatient & Observation patients
o Radiology Nursing
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o RIS: Epic Radiant
o PACS: Philips iSite
o Department specific Equipment:
▪ Siemens Icono Suite
▪ IVUS
▪ Sonosite ultrasound
▪ Bayer/Medrad power injector
● Floating: If yes, where?
o No
● Orientation (facility and unit):
o Administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review, etc.) – 1 day
o 2 days to 1 week departmental (as needed)
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: none
o No call
o RTO: Manager approval
● Shift times / Current Vacancies: M-F, 7a-4:30p
● Other notes:
o Scrub Color: Hospital greens provided
