Assignment Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every Other Weekend required
- 3x12s | 36 Hours/Week
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience required
- AHA BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification through NBRC required
- No local candidates within 50 miles
Job Description
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care services to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The therapist will work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver high-quality respiratory treatments and emergency support in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, breathing treatments, and respiratory care procedures
- Operate and manage ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP devices, and other respiratory equipment
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis
- Monitor patient responses to respiratory treatments and adjust care plans as needed
- Respond to emergency situations including code blue and rapid response events
- Assist with airway management, intubation, and ventilator support
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
